Description

Experience the epitome of British grand touring with this 2003 Jaguar XKR Convertible. First registered on 1st July 2003, this magnificent grand tourer is presented in the striking combination of Zircon Blue exterior over an Ivory leather interior and contrasting navy hood. This vehicle has covered a mere 45,500 miles under the stewardship of just four discerning owners. The most recent custodian added only 6,000 miles since acquiring the car in December 2018 and ensured its preservation by sticking to dry usage and storing it professionally every winter - we know this to be true!

The XKR’s design is a testament to Jaguar’s commitment to elegance and performance. The XK8, upon which the XKR is based, was styled by Fergus Pollock under the direction of Geoff Lawson.  This collaboration resulted in a vehicle that seamlessly blends classic Jaguar aesthetics with modern performance.

The 4.2L Supercharged V8 engine, delivering 400bhp, ensures exhilarating acceleration, while the automatic transmission provides a smooth and effortless driving experience. The interior, reminiscent of classic British luxury, features polished wood veneers and Ivory leather, offering both comfort and sophistication.

This XKR is equipped with premium features, including; Navigation System, Premium Sound System, Heated Seats, enhancing both convenience and driving pleasure. The vehicle remains in immaculate condition, reflecting meticulous maintenance and care.

The car will be accompanied by an MOT until December 2025 and a fresh post storage service carried out by marque specialists E&E Services in Milton Keynes. A comprehensive service history, original owner’s manuals, and two sets of keys, this Jaguar XKR Convertible stands as a testament to timeless design and engineering excellence.

Model History

Introduced in 1996, the Jaguar XK8 marked the beginning of a new era for the marque, replacing the long-serving XJS with a more modern grand tourer available in both coupé and convertible form. It was the first to feature Jaguar’s new AJ-V8 engine, blending performance with refinement in a way that honoured the brand’s heritage while embracing contemporary design.

The XKR, launched in 1998, brought a supercharged version of the V8 engine—initially 4.0 litres and later 4.2 litres as seen here—offering a more assertive character while retaining the comfort and luxury expected of a Jaguar. Designed under the direction of Geoff Lawson with contributions from Fergus Pollock and Keith Helfet, the XK’s styling echoed classic proportions with subtle aggression.

Electronically limited to 155mph, the XKR matched the V12-powered XJS in outright speed, but with sharper dynamics and improved technology. Factory equipment included a navigation system, self-levelling xenon headlights, adaptive damping, heated and memory seats, and a premium sound system.

The interior, praised by Jeremy Clarkson as “like sitting inside Blenheim Palace,” remains a standout feature. Today, the XKR is increasingly recognised as a modern classic, embodying Jaguar’s distinctive blend of performance, craftsmanship, and timeless design.
