Description
First registered and supplied by Official Porsche Centre Dick Lovett Ltd of Swindon on 1st August 1994 and retained by the same keeper (our vendor) since 1996, this incredible Midnight Blue 993 Carrera 2 stands as a rare example of long-term private ownership and thorough mechanical stewardship with invoices on file totaling over £36,000.
The 3.6-litre flat-six underwent a full ‘blueprint' rebuild by Redtek at 198,000 miles, an extensive £18,000 top and bottom-end overhaul covering pistons, bearings, clutch, dual-mass flywheel and gearbox reset, restoring the car’s core engineering to as-new health (Invoice available on request).
Since the rebuild the car has covered just under 16,000 miles, with annual MOTs and fastidious upkeep including refurbished and painted brakes, new RS-spec heat exchangers (2020) and a complete air-conditioning renewal.
Finished in its original deep Midnight Blue with full black leather, this purist-spec Carrera 2 is equipped with a six-speed manual gearbox, electric windows and sunroof. The interior remains remarkably fresh for its age.
This example is well specified from new, featuring desirable factory sports seats (383 and 387), 17-inch Cup alloys (398), air conditioning (573) and an electric sliding sunroof (650). It was also specified with a green-tinted windscreen with graduated top tint (567), rear wiper (425) and heated driver’s seat (340). As a UK-delivered C16 car with original audio preparation; the Blaupunkt London Radio RDM-42 (693) and Onboard/Trip Computer (693), its specification is both practical and period-correct, further underlining its appeal as a well-equipped Carrera 2.
No crash damage is recorded and a full Car Check report confirms clean history with no write-off, finance or colour changes. The last full service was carried out by AMB Porsche in 2020, with just 1,700 miles added since. The MOT runs through January 2026 and all previous advisories have been addressed.
Honest, mechanically renewed and entirely unpretentious, this is a driver’s early 993, a car to be enjoyed, not hidden. For those who understand what a well-used, well-cared-for 911 feels like, it represents rare authenticity in an increasingly curated market.

Model History
Porsche 911 (993) Carrera (1994-1998)
The 993 generation stands as one of Porsche’s greatest achievements and marks the final air-cooled 911. Introduced in 1993 and produced until 1998, it closed a chapter of thirty years of continuous development.
Beneath its smoother, more integrated bodywork lay a new multi-link rear suspension mounted on an alloy sub-frame, which transformed ride quality and handling without losing the essential rear-engined balance that defined the 911.
The Carrera 2, with its naturally aspirated 3.6-litre M64 flat-six and six-speed manual transmission, embodied the purest expression of that ethos. Producing around 272 bhp and capable of 0-60 mph in approximately 5.3 seconds, it combined the raw sound and mechanical feel of a classic 911 with newfound precision and refinement. Its cleaner aerodynamics, subtle flared arches and teardrop mirrors marked design maturity while preserving the unmistakable 911 silhouette.
Today the 993 occupies a rare position, the bridge between analogue and modern. Its air-cooled character, superb build quality and timeless shape make it one of the most sought-after of all 911 generations.
